This evening, I am posting information on Baird family history as sourced from a memorial stone at Cathcart Cemetery, Glasgow. This records the deaths of:
- Pte. Alex McKerrol Baird, Glasgow Highlanders, killed in action at Delville Wood, France, July 15th 1916 age 22 years.
- Chrissie Barrie, wife of Pte. Alex McKerrol Baird, Daughter of Capt. & Mrs Barrie, Strandmore, 65 Park Drive, Whiteinch, on Nov 9th 1916, age 23 yrs.
- Capt. James Barrie, late River Pilot, Glasgow on May 30th 1899 age 54 yrs. Interred Portrush.
- Janet Barrie on Oct 6th 1928 age 72 yrs.
